Steve Monkewicz — Deputy Chief Executive Officer
Steve has 25+ years of commercial real estate acquisition and development experience. Prior to joining Carpenter/Robbins, he was with GSA’s San Francisco and Seattle offices completing several hundred million dollars in lease transactions and specializing in complex lease acquisition, including build to suit lease construction. He was one of the first persons to attain the LEED Building Design & Construction credential within PBS and led the effort to deliver the first LEED EB Platinum building in Seattle.
Steve was also a Zone Manager with the Washington, DC, headquarters office and had responsibilities towards developing strategies for the PBS lease portfolio, quality control for high-value projects and defining a process standard fostering a consistent framework for lease acquisition across 11 regions. Results included significant improvement in project delivery efficiency and funding justification for an additional 200+ employees. During his tenure, Steve was detailed to CBRE’s NYC office working with Coca Cola, IBM, and Bank of America, among other clients tasked with strategic portfolio planning.
Prior to GSA, Steve was in the private sector with a Manhattan based boutique restaurant group developing new food and beverage concepts and properties.
